How to Find the Right Fit
Share
Fit is the single biggest factor in whether a piece of clothing gets worn or lives in the back of the drawer. Here's how to get it right the first time.
Start with your usual size
Every product page has a size chart with chest, waist, and length measurements in both cm and inches. Take a tape measure and check the piece you're ordering against a shirt or trouser you already own and love — that's more reliable than guessing.
Between sizes? Size up
If your measurements land between two sizes, going up is almost always the safer call. It's easier to have a piece taken in by a tailor than to gain half an inch across the chest.
Watch for common fit issues
- Trousers: the waistband should sit without a belt cinching it tight. If you need to pull hard on the belt, size up.
- Jackets: shoulders should end where your shoulders end — that's the one thing tailors can't easily fix.
- Knitwear: should skim the body, not cling. Cuffs should sit at the wrist bone.
